Our first garden

This will be our 3rd summer in our house and we have finally planted the small garden we had wanted since the first summer.

On Saturday, Troy spent a good chunk of the day 'building' the garden to his very particular specifications.

It is not too big, so we only bought a few plants at the local gardening center. Last night we planted them, and there are more than we thought.

3 types of tomato plants, red peppers, banana peppers, zuccuni, and lots of herbs.

No weeds have started to grow yet and as long as these guys don't move in we should be ok!

Just so that you can say that you've been warned, garden size can grow as fast and as big as a yarn stash... so buy canning bottles this year if you see them on sale, you'll need a lot of them for your homemade salsa made from your 25 tomato plants of next year :)

Holy smokes Tanya!! Is that a couple hundred baby spiders!?! My worst nightmare would be tripping and landing in those...SHUDDER. Your garden looks awesome - it's nice to start with a few plants and then make it a little bigger every year. This is the first year Brad and I went beyond flowers at our place and did a vegetable garden too. Haven't eaten anything out of it yet but it's coming up pretty good!
