Yesterday I started this Pansy Quilt. Troy's great aunt Bertie made 20 of these pansy squares and has since aged a little past her quilting prime so I've taken on the challenge of making a quilt with them. This is the first start at it. The squares are 11.5" and I'm placing them 4x5. The sashing is cut 3.5" so will be 3" when completed.

I found this great storage rack in my back shed. I cleaned if off and it's perfect for storing material and yarn in. The best thing about it is that when I walk into my craft room the first thing I see is all my material and yarn out on display. Nothing more inspiring than that!

I decided to start Christmas projects early this year and made this wall hanging with my new found quilting skills. I learned a ton during this project... from machine quilting, applique to binding... all in this small little fun project. It only took a couple of nights of work. I think it will make a good Christmas gift for someone.

This is my first quilt I've made so far. I started it back in April and got about this far within 6 weeks... taking a class helps to get things done. Since the class I've been hand quilting it and I haven't been going very fast. Really should have a floor rack to do this proper but so far I'm just using a round wooden ring. Not ideal... I'll finish it some day.
